About Me

My photo
Hi I am a Christian, a nurse, the mother of two grown children and two grand daughters, one grandson, and 3 dogs. I love people and have a huge heart. So why am I blogging? Well I've been told that I need to publish my writings. This seemed to be the easiest way to do that. Also, I want to get out there and live life to the fullest. Empty nests are great because now I get to explore the world. I'm starting right here on my computer. So come along with me and as I learn to fly we'll soar together!

04/14/11 ah ha!!~ an answer

Revelation... or perhaps more precisely Clarification......

For months now my prayer has been “Give me Your heart Lord”
He is faithful.

We have the heart of Christ within us, a replacement of our own foul broken sinful hearts.
So what does this mean?
It means that you can trust your heart, for it is Christ within you.
Knowing God’s Word and functioning from the knowledge of Him that resides in the heart allows us to live Christ like.
It is not an act of the will.
It is not an emotional.
It is not from habit, from working at it, from wishing and hoping and dreaming or striving, or desiring, or even from praying that it comes from.
It comes from simply living out of the heart.
Saying doing and acting exactly what is already within us.
Listening to the Lord of Glory as He gently guides us from that place where He resides.

I believe that if we have given Him our hearts then He has taken them.
He has replaced our heart with His own and He resides there.
We must get our brains, our emotions, our circumstances out of the way,
And listen to our hearts.  His heart dwelling in us.
When we seek to be with Him it is in that place where we commune.
It is within us where we find His prompting, His love for us, His peace, His will.
We have forgotten to connect with that.
We have somehow decided that knowledge resides in our brain/minds
And the Spirit is without, somewhere to be sought and found, outside of us.
This is a lie from the pit of hell!
Our Father did not leave us without His guide, His love, His power.
But the enemy has done a good job of making us believe that we must work for it.
We do not.
We only need to connect to what has already been placed within us.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; Psalm 139:23

How important is our heart to God?
Here are some of the things He desires commands and instructs about our hearts.....

Our heart is the place where decisions are made:
Exodus 25:2 Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me; from every man whose heart moves him you shall raise My contribution.
Over and over in Exodus we see that Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and his decisions were made from that position.
Exodus 4:21  But I will harden Pharaoh's heart that I may multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt

In the heart is the place where the strength and power of God is found:
Exodus 31:6  And behold, I Myself have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all who are skillful I have put skill, that they may make all that I have commanded you:
Exodus 35:21 Everyone whose heart stirred him and everyone whose spirit moved him came and brought the LORD'S contribution for the work of the tent of meeting and for all its service and for the holy garments

The heart is the place where all motives come from, and all actions emanate out of the heart, believers and unbelievers:
Leviticus 26:36  As for those of you who may be left, I will also bring weakness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf will chase them, and even when no one is pursuing they will flee as though from the sword, and they will fall
Leviticus 26:41  I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies-- or if their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled so that they then make amends for their iniquity,

Our memory resides in our heart:
Deuteronomy 4:9 Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons.
Deuteronomy 4:39   Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other

The heart is where we are commanded to love God from:
Deuteronomy 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

And our hearts must be what we give to God and what He will replace in us:
Deuteronomy 10:16  So circumcise your heart, and stiffen your neck no longer.
Deuteronomy 30:6 Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live

We must guard our hearts:
Deuteronomy 11:16  Beware that your hearts are not deceived, and that you do not turn away and serve other gods and worship them.

And we serve Him from our hearts:
Joshua "Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God and walk in all His ways and keep His commandments and hold fast to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul."

We praise from our hearts:
1 Samuel 2:1  Then Hannah prayed and said,” My heart exults in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.

God desires us to have His heart:
1 Samuel 13:14 "But now your kingdom shall not endure The LORD has sought out for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has appointed him as ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you."

Ok how about the New Testament?  What does it have to say about the heart?

Matthew 5:28  but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Revelation 17:17  "For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled.

I do not believe that the ‘heart’ spoken of so often in Scripture was merely as an archaic use of the term.
I believe that each and every time it is given – it is intentional.
It is telling us an important truth, and we need to pay attention to it.

We live in a battleground.  All of hell is warring against God and we are the object of this wrath.
Our enemy has most succinctly and almost completely accomplished his mission of deception.
We few who have our eyes open – even if only partially – can detect that things here in this realm do not constitute what is ‘real’, but only a faded picture and forerunner of what truly is and will be revealed when we cross over from this temporal existence.
Our views, values, and vocation which are grounded and cemented within our hearts demonstrate the truth.
And we therefore live out the love that has been placed within us in order to aid in the unveiling of the remaining precious ones here.
How do we live this way you ask (as I have been asking for 35 years)
I’ve finally found the answer.
We live from our heart, the one that resides within us which has been a replacement of our old heart by God’s heart.
It’s clear to me now finally that my heart – which was wicked – has been removed ‘circumcised’ and He that has given me a new one.
This new heart bears witness to His truth and it is where the two of us commune.
It is the seat of my mind spirit soul and body from which all decisions come and all actions can be directed.
When I live from my heart (where He lives) I live rightly.
It occurs to me just now that everything else, outside of what comes from my (His) heart is simply a lie.
And I may as well just dismiss it.  All of which are unimportant.
What does my heart love?  People.
