About Me

My photo
Hi I am a Christian, a nurse, the mother of two grown children and two grand daughters, one grandson, and 3 dogs. I love people and have a huge heart. So why am I blogging? Well I've been told that I need to publish my writings. This seemed to be the easiest way to do that. Also, I want to get out there and live life to the fullest. Empty nests are great because now I get to explore the world. I'm starting right here on my computer. So come along with me and as I learn to fly we'll soar together!

05/13/10 why

We need each other
Because good times and laughter
Are never so sweet alone, as when they are shared.
And others need to see us smile

We need each other
Because life can be lonely
And life can be hard
But it’s not quite so lonely or hard if someone stands beside us.

We need each other
For challenges and support and gaiety and nurturing and sympathy.
When that last word on the crossword puzzle just doesn’t come to us.
When silence is not golden,,, and when our heart is beating outside our chest with excitement.

We need each other
Because we are made in God’s image
We are made to love. We are made for relationship.
To live out our lives together in the finite time we are given - while we have the opportunity.

Today I look at the photos of my parents, my children, my friends and family.
A marked time in our lives put into a snapshot that brings back memories of events in our lives.
Soon there will be more photos with new additions to enjoy, but some will never have another photo made.
Mingled with those images are cherished memories of deep love along with sorrow and joy and sweet anticipation.
A blink of the eye and a life span is over and we are gone from this earth.  Yet we continue on.
And what matters most is captured not in the pictures there, but in our hearts forever.

And He said to him,
"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the great and foremost commandment.
The second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
On these two commandments depend the whole law and the prophets.
(Matthew 22:37-40, NASB)
