08-10-09 today's thoughts on the human condition

An empty soul that longs for love lives within every human being

Not always recognized as such when our conscious thoughts examine

But underneath the loud noise of living distractedly

We're all aware of that common bond of being all alone.

Now this may sound as sad as anything else you've heard

I think because it resonates deeply within us as a truth normally unspoken

That we all share together but separately in the silence of our hearts

And we're crying out desperately in search for a union to satisfy this void

No it's not a sadness that can be filled with lust or wealth or flesh

Great artistry entertainment business and even love this need will not satiate.

That void created in us - no error it is there - and just one thing will fill it up

It's the One and only Lord of all because He who made us for Himself

So

Throw out the rules

Burn up the maps

Erase the recipes

Just embrace the One

Nothing you can do

Not work or purchase

No intervention by us

Just embrace the One

Some of us spend a lifetime searching out the perfect fit

We spend our hours and days in slavery to the whiles of the pit

Following the crowd even though there is no relief

Wasting precious lives for no one's benefit

Some of us are seekers and follow wisdom's path

Some caught in self importance of intellect and mind

Some philosophically inclined and boasting understanding

But when the truth is revealed these too just emptiness hold

So

Throw out the rules

Burn up the maps

Erase the recipes

Just embrace the One

Nothing you can do

Not work or purchase

No intervention by us

Just embrace the One

It is not a secret. 

It's been shared all throughout time. 

That we were created for the LORD of Hosts. 

He is the reason for our rhyme. 

And until we embrace Him truly, our lives will be lived in vain. 

Because nothing else here matters until we bear His name.
