What happens after the bells and
whistles are spent?
In this instang gratification
culture where no patience or endurance exists, how to learn to grow and submit
to anyone outside of our own selfish lusts?
The race to bring in a harvest has
left the fields trodden, and yet the wheat lies about often to spoil in the
parched sunlight for lack of care.
It is my heart to share that life
continues on and everything remains as before. That one must now learn to
plow those fields plant and water.
Patience does not spring from wishes
good intentions or even prayer alone, but from enduring trials and walking in
obedience in spite of pain.
Love comes not from having one’s own
desires met, but from the life given to love others.
Joy is fruit, not gift or even
reward. One must be willing to be pruned in order to produce that
sweetness which comes from roots planted in the depths rather than in the
simple topsoil of whim and fancy.
Culture has provided us with a
challenge lately to either be swept away in the torrent of self endulgence, or
stand firm and deeply rooted in the knowledge of our relationship with the most
Holy God.
Soon enough there will be a parting,
a division, that one must choose between the two. No more dancing on the
fense with a thinly veiled profession of belief. A line drawn in the sand
cannot be stood upon.
So.
We must climb out of ourselves and
connect with one another.
We must be the ONE bride for our
coming groom.
We must be real with one another,
living in truth.
We must open our hearts and allow
Him to teach us, minister to us, and love us, through the body that He has
provided.
We must take the hands of those who
He has placed along our life paths and live life together.
We must embrace each one as part of
ourselves, flesh of our flesh.
