About Me

My photo
Hi I am a Christian, a nurse, the mother of two grown children and two grand daughters, one grandson, and 3 dogs. I love people and have a huge heart. So why am I blogging? Well I've been told that I need to publish my writings. This seemed to be the easiest way to do that. Also, I want to get out there and live life to the fullest. Empty nests are great because now I get to explore the world. I'm starting right here on my computer. So come along with me and as I learn to fly we'll soar together!

08-19-2009 There is joy and sorrow in His love

Joy and sorrow are the ever-present companions in the life of one that belongs to the Lord of Hosts.
Sweet joy is found in knowing Him and the love that He demonstrates to us – and we are allowed to participate in as we pour ourselves out for others in His Name.
Painful sorrow also is knowing that so devoted was His love for us that it drove Him to the cross and led Him to bear what we could not.
For the desire to save us was an all consuming love.

Our hearts can rest in the knowledge that in His humanness He understands what we are made of and how frail these temples in which we abide.
But great comfort is found in knowing that His Holy place in the Trinity provides more strength than ever could be needed for our protection.
That He has no lack and spares naught for us.
And none could ever remove us from His tender grasp.

God in the Godhead, Son of the Most High, King and Sovereign Lord, Almighty in love and strength bent to one purpose which is to have us and keep us for Himself.
What infinite joy to know that we are His.
How precious the sorrow of what He bore for us.
So that we who know His voice could run to Him in all things, for food, sustenance, protection, understanding, love, and life.
And so then, we gladly share in His joy and sorrow for His Names sake.
What a marvel to be considered His own.
How then can we not serve Him?
For what other can we give to Him but our all.
